Wizardry are humans that are born with the ability to perform magic. A male human with magical ability is known as a wizard (plural: wizards), and a female human with magical ability is known as a witch (plural: witches). "Wizardry" is sometimes used as a gender-neutral singular noun like "man", as well as a name for the human magical community and society. Wizardry live in secret all across the world, even alongside Folk (non-magic people) in many cases.[1]
Wizardry can be anyone in a Folk's life, unbeknownst to the Folk. This includes anyone from their neighbor to or the butcher at their local supermarket. There are a multitude of reasons for the secrecy that the Wizardry live, unique to each nation. In the United States, this was caused by law since the early 1700s with the signing of the Salem Concord, which forced American Wizardry to keep themselves secret and made peace between Wizardry and the Folks, ending the Salem Witch Wars.[1]

Despite Wizardry being part of two separate communities, and keeping the magical one a secret, in most nations Wizardry have a separate pseudo-government, which cooperates with the Folk government of their respective nation. Most people within the Folk governments will not know of the existence of the Wizardry, except for very few people in Folk agencies, including secret services, as they are sometimes required to work together with Wizardry agencies. The leaders of the nations also tend to know of their existence, such as the president of the United States. The Wizardry governments tend to be under the nation's government and usually answer to the Folk leaders of the nations. They also live under Folk laws, but have several laws of their own. It seems to be the case that these laws have to be abided by Folk as well as Wizardry, but since many of these special laws pertain to magical things and most Folks are not aware of such things, they tend not to break them at all.[1]
