New York – referred to as New York City or the City of New York to distinguish it from the State of New York, of which it is a part – is the most populous city in the United States of America, and one of the most important world centers. The city is home to the Department of Magical Criminal Investigations (DMCI), whose headquarters is secretly hidden inside the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House. New York is also home to the headquarters of the United Nations.

New York City is one of America's greatest cultural hubs and houses some the country's most famous historical buildings, art galleries, museums, restaurants and more. It is also home to the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art, where Asmode is now trapped in the painting Midas Washing at the Source of the Pactolus.
