The Department of Magical Criminal Investigations, abbreviated DMCI, is a governmental criminal investigative and justice ministry of the United States Wizardry under the Department of Magic. The DMCI deals with criminal investigations and law enforcement and are headed by a chief. Their main focus is crimes committed by Wizardry, often of magical nature. The Department headquarters are secretly located inside the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in New York City. Notable Department agents include the wizard Beifar Mahgo and the witch Ana Mahgo.[1][2]
Department agents, like Bureau agents, go through the most grinding and intolerable training that takes place at all hours of the day, in different climates and environments, including under water. It is so bad according to Agent Beifar Mahgo, that it would drive average Wizardry to wish to become Folk. DMCI agents are also trained to completely to master their own energy highly through energy excersise.[1]
The Department of Magical Criminal Investigations is also occasionally referred to as the Magical Department of Investigations (MDI) and the Department of Magical Investigations (DMI).
