Coppernicus is a wizard. He tsight physics for Folk at Marcelin High School for Boys, while teaching magic subjects to Wizardry in the school's secret Magic Department, along with Miss. McGillican,[1] including alchemy which he had great expertise with. Coppernicus was the head of the Magic Department at Marcellin High, until he was murdered.

Unbeknownst to Coppernicus, Andrew Mahgo had hidden the Midas Elixir and Nostradamus Medallion in Coppernicus' tower. The professor was murdered there by Lord Alex through the use of the death spell after the alchemist refused to give up the items, not even knowing he had them, though not before Alex took them for himself. Not long after this event, though not merely because of it alone, the Magic Department of Marcellin High was shut down and all Wizardry students and teachers were requested to transfer to Southern Wizarding Academy, to be separate from Folk.[2]
