The following information is based on events in * Interview for a Wizard and The Secret Society of Seven Sorcerers and contain spoilers.

The binding hex[1] (Ligo for binding; Finio for unbinding) is a hex that when cast on someone, magically forces the victim's arms behind their back and binds their hands together, and forces their legs together and binds them together. The binding hex is widely used by agents of the DMCI and MBI to handcuff criminals.[1][2]

Although the binding hex can be terminated with the incantion Finio, Libero also works.[3]
